Watch a Sunrise/Sunset in a different country every year

2013 - 16th October, Home

I left our house early morning for work and wondered why there seemed an orange glow from outside the front door.  As I came round the side of our house I was amazed by the sky in front of me.  They say "Red Sky in Morning, Sailors warning" and it was definitely true.  No more than 3 hours later it was pitch black and torrential rain was hammering down.  At least the sky was perfect in the morning.

2013 - Tunisia, sunset over Sousse

On our first evening in Tunisia, I watched the sunset over Sousse.  Our bedroom was a fantastic Ocean view, but one hell of a wind!

A New Dawn

My first sunrise was at the close of 2012.  Sat on the crisp white sands in the Dominican Republic with Clare.

We got up at 6am on our third day of our honeymoon and made the very short walk down to the beach, we sat and waited.

It was like a scene from Jaws with the boat (see on picture) creaking and buoys tinging, only without the cello playing shark.

We actually thought we had missed it at first, but then out popped the sun from behind a low cloud.  This was the first time I had witnessed an actual sunrise and it was breathtaking.  Plus I had great company with me to watch this.
